Who knew wallpaper could be this cute!

I"m so sad that this is the final week of the Summer Card Camp.  I've had many distractions today, and struggled with the layout but I do like how it came out.

Here is the color combo:

and this is my interpretation:

Can you believe the flowers are from wall paper I received in an online kit?  I think the credit for that is from Cocoa Daisy.  If I am wrong - I do apologize.  I had fun doing this one and tried to use a few items I had been hoarding.

How about a cup of coffee?

I was so inspired by the colors this week - I couldn't tell if it was calling out to me for a card with chocolate, ice cream, cupcake or coffee as the theme, so I decided to go with coffee for a few reasons.  I've been missing my Starbucks trips on the way to work since I've been on summer break. Also, my sister's birthday is coming up soon, and I know she loves coffee - so I looked through my goodies and this is what I came up with.

The card base is tissue tape and  chalk ink lightly sponged over to soften the too bright cream that it started off with. The coffee cup background was a manilla tag and 3 shades of distress ink rubbed on a craft mat and then sprayed with water.  I put the tag in the ink and dried it 3 different times.  I love how the ink looks with this technique, especially those droplets in the center which remind me of a coffee stain. The cups were painted with watercolor crayons.

I used white signo gel pen and white prisma pencil to add coffee swirls and then used a white caran d'ache watercolor crayon to give a subtle hint of steam.  The heart and cups are accented with glossy accents as well.

SCC Week 2 - Butterfly Friends

My final entry this week is Butterfly Friends - the two butterflies were my husband's idea - thanks again honey!

There is a great deal of coloring going on here with the Prisma Pencils - but the work is worth it.  I especially like how the word Friends and the two butterflies came out.

SCC Week 2 - Aloha Card

I am having so much fun working on these card challenges.  This week I actually completed three.  They are taking me longer than they should, but I think it is because I'm out of practice. Here is the first - hope you enjoy!

This card really tickles me - she is so cute and the colors really work with this theme. Makes me want to go back to Hawaii!

Summer Card Camp with Kristina and Jennifer

I am so excited to be participating the the Summer Card Camp 2011 hosted by Kristina Werner and Jennifer McGuire!  After several obstacles, I have my two cards to share.  The first follows this week's color combo assigned on Monday:

Here is my attempt - I think it came out pretty cute!  Thanks to Davis for helping with the sentiment. :)  I really like the whimsical birds and the clean lines.  This was a lot of fun! The orange is a little on the yellow side, but I think it still works.

Cardstock: Stampin' Up!
Stamp: Magenta
Ink: Memories-Black
Stickers: American Crafts Thickers "Giggles"
Rub Ons: American Crafts
Punch: Stampin' Up!, We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper
Other: Prisma Pencils, Chalk ink (lilac?), Copic B41, Faber-Castell PITT artist pen M

Then, on Friday, more colors were shared and I really liked this combo.

My attempt is close again but not exact.  I liked adding the sewing pattern to the background to give it a little something different.  The paper piecing was a challenge - patterns and colors for this size made it difficult. But, I think it turned out pretty good :)
